Ballard Elks Covid-19 Notice to Members

March 16, 2020

Dear Ballard Elks Lodge #827 member,

Out of an abundance of caution due to the rapid spread of the COVID-19 virus in the Seattle region, we closed the Ballard Elks Lodge on Wednesday March 11, 2020. Recently we learned that a patron at one of our recent events is now carrying the virus, however we cannot confirm if they were carrying the virus at the time they were in the building.

Since the closure on March 11, we have performed a deep and thorough cleaning of the entire Lodge by professional cleaners. We also have taken steps to increase cleaning in house as well as to provide additional sanitizer stations throughout the lodge.

Per the recent statewide shutdown from Governor Inslee regarding restaurants, bars and limiting the size of gatherings, we will remain closed through March 31st, 2020. The Board and House Committee will continue to meet to address situations as they arise and to prepare for the hopeful reopening of the Ballard Elks Lodge #827 in the near future.

We are concerned about the health and safety of our members, their guests and our employees. We are reviewing options to take care of our employees lost wages and again are monitoring the COVID-19 situation daily.

Support the Ballard Elks during Covid-19 –

As you know our Lodge was closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however we still have operating costs to maintain the building. While all efforts have been utilized to save money where we can during the shutdown, there are still bills and expenses coming in.

We know that money is tight for a lot of people right now, however if you are able please consider a donation to the lodge. Any amount is greatly appreciated. All money collected will go to the operating fund to cover operating costs.    Donate to the Building Fund
