Blood Drive

Your Community Needs You. You’re not the type to let your car run out of gas. And as a blood donor, we know you’re not the type to let your community run out of blood either. Bloodworks Northwest is asking you to donate in the final stretch of summer. Trauma cases spike significantly this time of year, and we need to ensure people have access to the blood they need. We encourage you to make an appointment to donate as soon as you’re able to. For those who didn’t get an opportunity to sign up to donate at the Ballard Elks Lodge #827, here’s your chance. Bloodworks just opened up 20 extra timeslots on September 8th – secure your appointment now before it’s all taken! Make an appointment by visiting bloodworksnw.org or call 800-398-78888. Same day appointments often available.

6th Annual Frock Swap – A women’s Clothing Exchange

6th Annual Frock Swap – A women’s Clothing Exchange
It’s time to start cleaning out your closets and refreshing your wardrobe again, ladies! The Ballard Elks and the Ballard Emblem Club are holding our 6th Annual Frock Swap – A women’s clothing exchange benefiting Jubilee Women’s Center, a local non-profit which supports women in need to build stable and fulfilling futures.

Over the years we have raised over thousands of dollars for Jubilee and Elks charitable programs and delivered truckloads of the leftover clothing for Jubilee’s clients. And all the women who have come to shop the event went home with lots of great new consignment-quality clothing for their wardrobes.
Clothing drop-off will be September 22nd – October 6th, 3pm to 9pm at the Ballard Elks Lodge. Follow the signs to the drop-off area upstairs.
Only bring items that are consignment-quality and you would be proud to pass on. If you wouldn’t lend it to a friend, don’t bring it!
What’s accepted:
• Women’s casual, business, formal, fitness & outdoors clothing, shoes, boots, jewelry, scarves, belts, hats, handbags, and totes in good condition.
• No lingerie, swimwear, socks, men’s, or children’s clothing.
• No stained or torn items, please.

We encourage you to try things on; there will be a changing area available.
*Items are for personal use and not for resale. We reserve the right to ask you to limit amounts you take and/or leave the event, if we feel this policy is being abused.
