Elk of the Month!

The new year us upon us and it’s time for our first Elk of the Month for 2020.  January’s Elk of the Month joined our lodge in October of 2018 and almost immediately said “I want to help out,” and began running food orders for our social quarters.  She is in attendance at many of our events and helped represent our lodge at the annual Syttende Mai and Greenwood Parades, huge community awareness events about our lodge.  When asked to help with our Membership Social this past year she quickly replied yes.

This member learned about the Membership Committee and all the amazing things this committee does for our lodge, then she asked if she could join it.  Almost everything at our lodge functions on the backs of Volunteers and when we have a member seek out a position, ask to join a committee, it makes things exponentially easier for our officers while making our lodge better for all our members.  How did she find out about the Committee and it’s needs you ask?  She has attended every lodge meeting since she joined our Ballard Elks in October of 2018.  She’s taken the time to learn and support her lodge – because that’s what Elks do.

She is now taking on the role of Volunteer Coordinator for our lodge.  Making the effort to connect our members that want to volunteer with the people that need those volunteers.  As someone that has taken the time to learn our lodge and our system to the level she has we expect her to empower more new volunteers to step up and help out with her direction as Volunteer Coordinator.

Cindy Lund – Thank you!  You’ve gone above and beyond to help our lodge with your volunteer efforts.  To learn as much as you have about our lodge and do so much for our lodge in such a short time is commendable and exemplifies perfectly that Elks Do.

Well done and thank you from the Past Exalted Ruler Association and your fellow Elks at the Ballard Elks lodge 827.  It’s these types of actions that leave a lasting impression and prove a good deed honestly and properly preformed lasts forever.  It truly does.
